Our aim
Communication is not only the key to a functioning industry, it also shows where potential lies. Giving needs, opportunities and problems a diverse, well-cast stage does more than make exchange possible: it also helps a market grow across industries and media. By bringing together a wide range of representatives from production, funding, the market and the media in one shared space, we want to strengthen the German-speaking industry and its international competitiveness on many levels.
What matters is not only freedom of opinion but also encouraging opinions and shedding light on what was lost in many earlier discussions for lack of diversity. A market is only as strong as all the levels working together.
Every year, Filmfestival Kitzbühel brings together creatives and decision-makers from project development, production, broadcasting, distribution and film financing to discuss the key issues currently facing film and television production in the DACH region. With its panels, the festival creates a focused platform for this.
What makes us different
Guests from different industries, professions and levels are invited to discuss together and to find new paths from the connections they make.
It is important to us to involve the festival’s invited guests in the discussions and so realise the full potential for future projects.
Exchange and debate
Industry events, panels and workshops, where future topics are discussed both in public and at internal events, are the core of the Think Tank. We see communication as a tool for bringing as many people together as possible.
Industry experts and emerging talent, production crews, the press, distributors and funders are connected here and given a professional space for exchange.
Workshops, Panels & Networking
Our workshops, aimed at producers and other industry professionals, open up new perspectives on forward-looking topics such as streamers vs. TV and cinema and the development of the film industry’s labour market (training and further education of skilled workers).
In the public panel discussions, these topics are explored in detail with the experts.
