Teresas Body

Original title: Teresas Körper

Teresa’s life is defined by the pain she carries within her body—invisible, yet ever-present. In search of relief, she lies down on the floor, at home or beneath her beloved sour cherry tree. But when traumas from the past catch up with her again, Teresa is forced to flee and sets out on a journey with an uncertain outcome alongside her adult daughters, Magda and Ola. Blurring the lines between documentary observation and fictionalized narrative, Magdalena Chmielewska weaves suffering, hope, and the desire for liberation into a haunting portrait of female experience, family relationships, and defiant self-assertion in her poetic feature film debut, TERESA’S BODY.
