Rabbit Don't Run

Original title: Hasenfuß

TONI is the top goalscorer on his local football team. However, he can only play with strong painkillers, which is why he keeps stealing pills from his work at the nursing home. His girlfriend NADIA, who’s tied up with her three daughters and her own work as a nurse, doesn’t know about this. Toni has a particularly important game this afternoon. An agent will come by to help him get transferred to a better club. On the pitch Toni shows just how good he is. He easily outwits his opponents, taunting them with step-overs and backheel tricks. But the agent dashes his hopes. In the evening, Toni plunges back into the everyday chaos with Nadia and the girls and tries to carry on as if nothing happened. When one of the girls collapses, because she has accidentally swallowed one of his painkillers, Toni can’t keep up with his lies.
