During the summer vacation of 1958, hothead Danny meets the shy Sandy. The two spend a romantic time together, deeply in love—until school starts again. That’s when Danny realizes that wallflower Sandy is in his class, but he has to give her the cold shoulder so as not to jeopardize his reputation as the coolest guy in his rock ’n’ roll crew. Disappointed, Sandy punishes him with contempt, which is why he tries to win her back at rock ’n’ roll parties.
